La Vitamin D is not only a vitamin, but is a real hormone that underlies numerous metabolic activities. In particular, it acts on the calcium and phosphate homeostasis and is essential for the development and health of the skeleton. It promotes the absorption of calcium and phosphate in the intestines and also their reabsorption at the kidney level along with phosphorus.
Increasingly, attention is now focused on the EXTRA SCHELETRIC activities of this vitamin as it has been shown to be a true immunomodulator, influencing the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines and interleukins and the synthesis of antimicrobial peptides by cells of the innate immune system (Admas 2008).
Clinical studies have shown that Vitamin D is directly involved in the regulation of the immune system through the regulation of VDR receptors of D lymphocytes.
Vitamin D is also used for many dermatological treatments due to its targeted action on keratinocytes, which synthesize vitamin D3 and through it differentiate. This allows the epidermal barrier to remain intact and functional at all times so it is often used in the treatment of psoriasis, of vitiligo and certain types of dermatitis.
Poor sun exposure and an altered absorption capacity of intestinal villi suggest daily Vitamin D supplementation.
Many patients, in fact, suffer from chronic inflammatory bowel disease in which an alteration is detected not only in the microbiome but also in the ability of the mucosa to absorb vitamins and active nutrients. In these cases, vitamin D administered With conventional formulations with gastro-intestinal absorption does not appear to be particularly effective.
The innovative formulation of Diviken Spray ensures the absorption of Vitamin D directly into the systemic circulation through the sublingual and gingival mucosa.
The scientifically established importance of the association with the Vitamin K2-7 to improve the bioavailability of Vitamin D itself.
