Androgenetic alopecia is the most frequent form of nonscarring alopecia. It can affect both sexes and presents with progressive miniaturization of hair in androgen-dependent areas (frontotemporal and vertex region). Although it mainly consists of an imperfection, it very negatively impacts the quality of life, self-esteem, and mood of patients with it. Diagnostic framing, through clinic and trichoscopy, is essential to proceed to a personalized therapy.
Below we present the clinical case of a 27-year-old male patient, suffering from androgenetic alopecia for about 10 years, who had undergone a hair transplant 4 years ago. He came to our observation about 6 months ago and showed a recurrence of the pathology (Fig. 1a).

Having contraindications to perform systemic finasteride therapy and not wanting to undertake, by his decision, topical Minoxidil therapy, we were initiating therapy with Restax Men’s Lotion, following the protocol of applying it to the scalp after shampooing, on alternate evenings, for a period of 6 months.

At the follow-up visit we noticed a remarkable clinical improvement (Fig. 1b) with increased density and number of hairs, which had a more aesthetically pleasing appearance in terms of shine and body. On triscoscopic examination we also appreciated a remarkable improvement with reduction of miniaturized hair and presence of new hair regrowth (Fig.2b) compared with six months earlier (Fig. 2a).
