CLINICAL CASE: FEMALE ANDROGENETIC ALOPECIA

In this report we present the clinical case of a patient, 48 years old, Italian nationality, suffering from androgenetic alopecia grade 2a (according to Ludwig’s scale).
Diagnosis: Female Androgenetic Alopecia
Treatment: The patient was treated for a period of three months with a topical formulated lotion containing Dimethyl Sulfone 0.5%, Sphinganine 0.3%, Chasteberry 1%, Hop 2%, Ribes Nigrum 0.5% and a nutraceutical consisting of Chasteberry 300mg, Resveratrol 50mg, Nicotinamide 50mg, Biotin 450mg and Piper Nigrum 7mg.
The purpose of the study is to evaluate the efficacy and tolerability of the therapy. The lotion was applied every other day for a minimum of three times a week on dry hair. The nutraceutical, formulated in tablet form, was taken once a day for three months.
CONCLUSIONS: After one month of therapy, the patient reported a reduction in hair loss, and after three months, an increase in hair density and pull test strength was observed at the visit. The patient reported no side effects and found the topical easy to apply.
