Health benefits of Piper Nigrum and its extract

The Piper nigrum, commonly called black pepper, is a spice that has been in use for centuries in the human diet and has considerable benefits: the most obvious being that it tastes great and is extremely useful for flavoring dishes. There is, in fact, scientific evidence regarding the ability of the Piper nigrum from improve the physiological processes of the human body.
Black pepper is native to India and is grown primarily in tropical regions of the world. For centuries it has been cultivated and used as a medicinal agent, an ingredient in perfumery, and a preservative agent. In addition, it has always been employed in traditional medicine, both in the Ayurvedic and Unani traditions.
The part of the plant commonly used as peppercorn is the berry that is not yet fully ripe, harvested and dried in the sun. This process allows the plant’s properties to be preserved for use in a variety of contexts.
The most important active ingredient found in black pepper is piperine, a natural alkaloid with a bitter taste and remarkable properties of biological interest. In fact, the he piperine has a wide variety of pharmacologically useful functions: it exhibits to varying degrees antioxidant, antihypertensive, anticoagulant, anti-asthmatic, analgesic, anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, antipyretic and immune-modulatory properties.
Why is Piper Nigrum important in weight-loss therapies?
This ingredient has become essential in some weight-loss therapies because Piper Nigrum and piperine have beneficial properties such as the ability to stimulate saliva, gastric juice and bile production, improve absorption capacity, speed up digestion, slightly accelerate metabolism and increase the bioavailability of other chemicals of pharmaceutical interest.
Piperine has the ability to speed up the metabolism of triglycerides, inducing the body to consume those already stored in the fat cells and, as a result, partially counteracting the accumulation of triglycerides in brown adipose tissue cells through the activation of TRPV1-type cell receptors..
Finally, the black pepper contains several important micronutrients, including vitamins K, A, E, and B6, antioxidants of various kinds, and important minerals of Manganese, Copper, Iron, Calcium, Phosphorus, Potassium, Selenium, and Chromium (chromium present as Chromium(III) salts).
Importantly, Chromium (III), which is also present in Dimaken Fast in the form of Chromium picolinate, contributes to insulin-sensitizing and metabolic activity-boosting action by increasing the amount of calories consumed during the day. For these reasons, the dry extract of black pepper and the piperine it contains assist the action of other components of the Dimaken Fast product, allowing better absorption of the active ingredients and an effective action of stimulating metabolic activity, physiologically promoting the decrease in body weight in patients who make prolonged use over time.
