On Saturday, March 11, 2023, the 4th theoretical-practical course “Clinical Cases in Trichology” was held in Montevarchi, organized by Dr. Silvia Cianchi, Scientific Director, and sponsored by S.I.Tri. (Italian Society of Trichology), of which Dr. Fiorella Bini is president and Prof. Andrea Marliani president emeritus. The congress was attended by many sponsors, primarily Wikenfarma and theAIPAF(Italian Association of Alopecia Patients and Friends ODV), which helped make the multi-voiced event unique and full of many insights. The theoretical-practical course was held at theGaetano Palloni Health Institute of Bianalisi Group S.p.a., which kindly hosted all participants at its facility.
"Clinical Cases in Trichology": how was the Congress held?
The theoretical-practical course organized by Dr. Silvia Cianchi was structured with the formula of clinical case presentation in trichology, moving from alopecia areata incognita, telogen effluvium and new and specific therapies for the treatment of certain trichological conditions. The moderators of the three sessions were, in order, Dr. Paolo Gigli, Prof. Andrea Marliani and Dr. Fiorella Bini.
The event was divided into three sessions, interspersed with a coffee break and a working breakfast, both kindly offered by Wikenfarma (parent company of the RestaX brand), the lead sponsor of the entire course. It started at 9 a.m. with registration of participants, with two breaks at 10:45 a.m. and 1 p.m., and ended at 3 p.m.

"Clinical Cases in Trichology": what topics were covered?
The clinical cases and reports presented during the theoretical-practical course were very enlightening and provided a moment of fruitful professional exchange among the physicians in the room. Some among the topics covered were the triggering factor of telogen effluvium, inflammatory scalp disorders, frontal fibrosing alopecia, or even galenic preparations in trichology or some manifestations of vitiligo in trichology. There was also a moment of presentation and discussion of the novelties presented by S. I.Tri. thanks to Dr. A. Vanni, S.I.Tri. secretary, thanks to his speech at the end of the second session.
The new frontiers of trichology
The conference “Clinical Cases in Trichology” organized by Dr. Silvia Cianchi also included a final session where not only the clinical cases presented could be discussed, but also some key therapeutic modalities and frontiers in the field of trichology.
First, Dr. A. Aimi presented an excursus on galenic preparations in trichology, talking especially about galenic lotions and galenic drugs. Next, Dr. Fabrizio Francescon gave a talk to the learners regarding hair care after washing.
Finally, there was a time for discussion that brought the learners to intervene interactively with the event, which ended with the completion of CME questionnaires and the delivery of certificates of attendance.
