DO NOT FEAR SEASONAL HAIR LOSS!
Find out how to counteract massive loss due to the arrival of the fall season!
Index
As we all know, losing hair is a physiological process and occurs in the vast majority of people periodically: hair loss is part of the normal life cycle of the hair, but, during seasonal changes, this is intensified and generates much discomfort due to the sudden and rapid loss that characterizes this seasonal problem.
During the transition period between summer and fall, increased hair loss can often occur, and according to recent studies, about one in three people experience this unpleasant condition on a regular basis each season. The loss can be copious and massive and often affects entire areas of the scalp, causing hair to fall out in strands and making the underlying skin visible within a few weeks.
But how does the change of season affect hair health?
Seasonal fall occurs mainly between September and November, straddling the end of summer and the beginning of autumn: this period of massive fall is also known as the “chestnut season“ precisely because it coincides time-wise with the harvesting period for these fruits.
The fact that hair loss intensifies during this period is not accidental, on the contrary; the causes are various and are closely related to the weather situation:
- The reduction in daylight hours that occurs during the change of season affects the production of certain hormones involved in regulating the hair’s life cycle; in fact, the growth phase is shortened, pushing hair toward premature shedding.
- Psychophysical stress, often amplified by seasonal changes, has negative effects on hormone balance and therefore negatively affects hair health.
- Colder temperatures and humidity can stress the scalp and damage the hair bulb.
- If during summer hair has been neglected and subjected to excessive exposure to UV rays, sand, salt, or chlorine, it is very likely to be more prone to shedding due to the damage it has sustained; hair, if already weak in itself, is more susceptible to premature shedding during the change of season.
In addition to what has been listed, there are a number of aggravating factors that can compromise hair health, such:
- nutritional deficiencies
- dehydration
- Frequent use of styling tools and products
- past illnesses
What are the "symptoms" of this phenomenon?
Seasonal hair loss is a natural and common phenomenon; however, this becomes a problem when it manifests itself aggressively: on average, a person loses about 100 hairs a day, while during this period the number ranges between 150, in the most moderate cases, and 500, in the most critical situations. This condition most affects people in the age range of 25 to 50 years old, in addition, women, due to greater exposure to hormonal changes, are more prone to seasonal hair loss.
Premature hair loss afflicts those with thinner and longer hair the most, as they are more susceptible to micronutrient deficiencies induced by seasonal changes.
Is there any way to avoid a massive fall?
Generally, this condition lasts a few weeks and resolves spontaneously, however, in order to avoid extensive damage to the scalp, it is advisable to take appropriate countermeasures.
The “evergreen” advice is to follow a balanced diet so as to cushion micronutrient deficiencies due to the stress of the change of seasons: foods rich in Protein, Iron, Zinc and B vitamins are of great help in keeping the hair healthy, as they promote keratin production.
At a time when the scalp is under stress, if stressed further with aggressive hair care products, it is likely to accelerate hair loss; therefore, it is necessary to use gentle and specific products, such as RestaX Sebocare Sh ampoo, RestaX Women’s Sebocare Shampoo, RestaX AF Shampoo or RestaX Repair Shampoo-Mask.
Seasonal hair loss, as already anticipated, does not depend only on previous damage or stress: the health of the hair during the change of season is put to the test due to the deficiency of various nutrients that the body uses to get used to the change of climate; this is precisely why it is necessary to properly supplement these nutritional deficiencies by means of specific products, so as to counteract the negative effects of climatic changes on the scalp.
Is there a SPECIFIC and SAFE product to counteract hair loss due to the coming of autumn?
To combat falling due to the change of seasons, Wikenfarma research has developed RestaX Effluvium, the first supplement formulated in a specifically to counteract hair loss hair loss seasonal. This nutraceutical physiologically replenishes nutrient deficiencies, lengthening the hair’s growth phase (anagen) and unlike other formulations on the market, which are extremely generic and often recommended for both hair and nails, RestaX Effluvium acts directly to counteract the negative effects of seasonal change (especially in fall and spring) on hair
