"20 CLINICAL CASES IN TRICHOLOGY 2022": THE HUGELY SUCCESSFUL CONGRESS ORGANIZED BY WIKENFARMA

È well known that, very often, scientific congresses and conventions follow predetermined procedures and those who organize them do not have the will to modernize the way the event is executed and organized: however, in the Italian scientific scene there are always those who think in a DIFFERENT, a voice out of the chorus that is louder and more confident than the others and allows one to enjoy one-of-a-kind experiences. Rich experiences both professionally and personally.

On January 29, at the Tuscany Inn Hotel in Montecatini Terme, the Congress was finally held. “20 Clinical Cases in Trichology 2022” organized by Wikenfarma. The scientific director was the Dr. Andrea Marliani and the event was sponsored by S.I.Tri. (Italian Society of Trichology), whose current president is Dr. Fiorella Bini.

How was the Congress held?

The founding house of the brand RESTAX has demonstrated how the willingness to engage and the desire to provide training and constant updates to the scientific community can result in events of the highest educational value.

The convention had more than one hundred registered physicians and professors: their enthusiasm and proactiveness made this day truly filled with interesting Clinical Cases, valuable scientific notions, and speeches that helped stimulate discussion among dermatologist-tricologist physicians.

Congress presented itself to everyone in an extremely DIFFERENT from the very first approach: the presentation of real clinical cases, the innovative formula of the TELEVOTER and the primary focus on the patient were just some of the many innovations introduced during the event. All physicians were given a welcome photo, which, along with professional records of the entire convention, will then be physically handed to them by the company’s Medical Informants.

This was not a one-direction event, a sterile lectio magistralis as an end in itself: in fact, throughout the Congress, thanks to the TELEVOTER formula, there was a continuous exchange between speakers and learners that enticed the entire room to follow the presentation of each clinical case with interest and attention.

The presence of prominent figures from the Italian dermatological scene, among whom we mention the founders of the S.I.Tri., certainly helped to increase the prestige of the event. Special mention should definitely be made for the president of the nonprofit society “Alopecia Areata & Friends”, Claudia Cassia, who participated as a representative of the association, but also contributed to the event with an engaging speech appreciated by all the learners in the room.

Physicians and guests were welcomed in the morning in the hotel lobby, and after CME registration, everyone was offered the opportunity to take a souvenir photo of the event. The learners immediately got into the swing of the Congress with the introductory talk by the Dr. Massimiliano De Carlo, CEO of WIkenfarma, who gave an overview of the company’s last two years. His words revealed that the Mission of the company has been, and will be, to place and consider the patient as the center of the company’s universe. The formulations of its products have become and will become increasingly specific and differentiated as the patient should be considered as the focal point Of any treatment. In fact, Dr. De Carlo stressed the importance of focused and specific therapies, therapies that differ by age, sex, and precise pathology. Of course, all this is possible only through a correct and accurate diagnosis by the dermatologist-tricologist: collaboration with the medical profession is, for this very reason, essential.

Afterwards, the physicians showed and discussed the first clinical cases of the day. After a short and pleasant coffee break and interviews with the physicians in the room, the event continued until lunchtime. During the afternoon, there was the presentation of more clinical cases and finally the closing of Prof. Andrea Marliani, scientific director of the congress, closed the event at 6 p.m.

The clinical case reports were greatly enriched by the TELEVOTER formula, which arose from the desire to want to organize an event DIFFERENT and unique, which allowed physicians to answer questions about the clinical cases presented and giving them the opportunity to ask follow-up questions. The exchange was fruitful and the enthusiasm shown by all the learners in the room was almost palpable.

As the title of the Congress suggests, the main topic of the Lecturers’ reports, were Clinical Cases concerning the field of trichology: ranging from ‘male androgenetic alopecia e female androgenetic alopecia in childbearing age and in postmenopause, up to telogen effluvium, physicians were able to confront real clinical cases. The real focus, in fact, was just that: a fixed point of the entire Congress was the concept of the patient-centeredness, of personalized therapies and tailored to the individual person.

All the Staff of Wikenfarma, both the in-house staff and the scientific informants, followed the eminent guests for their every need and provided all the necessary guidance to experience this event to the fullest: professors and physicians were enthusiastic not only about the content and modalities of the event itself, but also about the painstaking organization by Wikenfarma that enabled them to have a three hundred and sixty degree immersive experience.
