plant that grows wild throughout Europe and has long been used in traditional herbal medicine for its countless beneficial properties.<\/p><p>There are multiple <i><b><u>evidence<\/u> <\/b><\/i>scientific on the efficacy of epilobium extract as an anti-inflammatory and antioxidant; in fact, it has often been used successfully in topical applications against swelling, burning, and joint pain.[1]<\/p><p>Epilobium, by virtue of its <b>anti-inflammatory<\/b> action, is also of particular importance in trichology, as all trichological disorders have some <b>inflammatory<\/b> component, which <i>triggers <\/i>or <i>aggravates <\/i>the condition leading consequently to thinning and hair loss.<\/p><p>A particular prostaglandin produced as a result of inflammation, prostaglandin <b>D2<\/b>, is in fact known to have an effect on the hair follicle similar to that of <b>dihydrotestosterone (DHT)<\/b>, gradually inducing the miniaturization of the follicle and then its atrophy. In fact, this goes on to enhance the deleterious effects of DHT on the scalp and hair structure itself. Thus, chronic inflammation can greatly accelerate the course of androgenetic alopecia and reduce the time to intervene before the follicles atrophy permanently.  <\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-3595d1f elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"3595d1f\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h4 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">I benefici dell'estratto di Epilobio<\/h4>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-2408f56 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"2408f56\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>Epilobium extract, in addition to its important anti-inflammatory and antioxidant action, is also a seboregulator and an antiandrogen: in particular, this is important for organizing an appropriate therapeutic response in patients with androgenetic alopecia associated with <b>seborrheic dermatitis<\/b>, which causes severe inflammation and is associated with <b>hyperseborrhea <\/b>of the scalp.<\/p><p>The combination of epilobium extract with other active ingredients with antioxidant action, such as astaxanthin, greatly improves the function of hair follicle cells. In fact, since these experience a strong mitotic rate, they tend to be subjected to more intense oxidative stress than cells in other organs; in addition, astaxanthin also has a moderate anti-inflammatory action, also helping to reduce the production of prostaglandin D2. <\/p><p>Epilobium extract is, as already mentioned, endowed with activity <b><u><i>anti-androgenic and seboregulatory<\/i><\/u><\/b>.
