Although it is generally underestimated, this figure is steadily increasing due to the climate becoming increasingly hot and humid: this climatic situation drastically affects the sebum production of the scalp but, above all, the proliferation of Malassezia furfur, a fungus that is naturally found on the skin and is the presumed contributor to this condition. <\/p><p>The body parts most affected by this particular type of dermatitis are those skin areas that contain high amounts of sebaceous glands and are prone to severe inflammation and constant itching, such as, for example, the scalp, face, and hairline.<\/p><p>Seborrheic dermatitis, in addition to redness and oily skin, often causes scaling, causing the affected parts to lose some white or yellowish skin scales. In severe cases, actual splits may form, generating infection or erythema. <\/p><p>In addition, these symptoms can also have many psycho-physical implications such as:<\/p><ul><li><strong>Physical discomfort:<\/strong> Itching and irritation can cause physical discomfort and interfere with daily activities.<\/li><li><strong>Eye problems:<\/strong> Seborrheic dermatitis can also affect the eyelids, causing inflammation<\/li><li><strong>Hair loss:<\/strong> in severe cases, seborrheic dermatitis can cause more or less hair loss.<\/li><li><strong>Psychological impact:<\/strong> can cause
