Chemically, hyaluronic acid is classified as a glycosaminoglycan being formed by repeating long sequences of two simple sugars, glycuronic acid and N-acetylglucosamine. Its high solubility in an aqueous environment is important for ensuring tissue hydration while protecting it from excessive tension and stress, and its high affinity for other hyaluronic acid molecules and other components of the extracellular matrix allows the formation of a dense and intricate high-molecular-weight network.<br \/>The use of licorice extract as an anti-ulcerative is widely known; in fact, it is used in gastric and duodenal ulcers and as an adjunct in the treatment of spasmodic pain in chronic gastritis. These benefits are related to the presence of anti-inflammatory saponins. In addition, licorice prolongs the life of stomach surface cells, with a demonstrated anti-pepsin effect. Clinical studies on deglycyrrhizinated licorice have shown effects in the treatment of gastrointestinal ulcers not dissimilar to those obtained with untreated licorice, suggesting the presence of other active ingredients in the protection of gastrointestinal tract function.<br \/>Lentisk acts on digestive system function and intestinal transit regularity.
