Therefore, it also acts at the peripheral receptor level, without interfering with endocrine glands. Serenoa Repens also has a mild estrogen-like action. β-sitosterin undergoes aromatization and behaves as a weak estrogen, activating membrane adenylyl cyclase and stimulating matrix mitoses: thus contributing to the maintenance of Anagen and optimization of Catagen.
